Frozen Reflection

This was taken down at a lake in Apple Valley, Minnesota this past weekend. Though the lake was still a blanket of white ice, the sun was bright and the sky an amazing cornflower blue. The the leaves of the trees, still hanging on from the previous fall, were reflecting upon the ice giving it a wet, painted look. I found it a beautiful scene.

Many thanks to James at Newtown Area Photo for hosting ‘Weekend Reflections’. James…thank you for giving me a reason to ‘look’ at things a little deeper. For more ‘Weekend Reflections’ check out his blog at Newtown Area Photo!

  2. Isn't it amazing how some leaves just refuse to "fall." Perhaps to lift the moods of those caught in the "white stuff" all winter. This is such a beautiful scene...fall color and ice! What an amazing combination.

  18. On days like these, it is nice that some of those fall leaves stayed on the trees to add some colour.
