Ch-ch-ch-chill

Weather January 21, 2011

What I am trying to show you here is the tiny little weather application I have on the sidebar of my computer.

The good news is that it is sunny – thus the full sun burst in the upper left hand corner.  The red ALERT across the middle means ‘something is up’!  And by that I don’t mean the temperature.  As you can see (though very pixilated) in the upper right hand corner it is –21 degrees (yes *minus* 21) Fahrenheit at 8 am in the morning here.

The Alert is actually for the –35 degree windchill (good thing it is not all that windy!).

The above is what I saw out my kitchen window first thing in this morning. Regardless of the cold the sunrise was as beautiful as ever.

Renner: This is how I feel about that!

Mandy: You don’t see me! I’m invisible….so quit asking me if I have to go out! I can hold it, my bathroom is too cold right now!

All that said:

Today is perfect for reflecting back on warmth!

SONY DSCApparently everyone is tired out. So we will end today’s reflective journey and hopefully leave everyone feeling a little bit warmer!

I could get used to this!

Renner: I guess it hasn’t been too bad sharing my toys.

Holidays!

SONY DSCRenner here! My house was all quiet and then Christmas morning happened!

I got this….

Fidget got this and some other cool stuff.

SONY DSCLemme got his own stuff too, but preferred Batman’s hideout.

I also got this! Smells good!

Ruby seemed to like her present.

SONY DSCThen my humans made me do this!

And the day before the sky looked like this!

Mandy missed it because she didn’t come to our house until after Christmas Day, but she will be here next time!

But everything is new to her!

And don’t worry, I will share all my toys and bones with her, she really likes them.

Happy New Year Everyone. Hope you all have a greyt 2011!

Meet…

Mandy!

Mandy’s is a retired racing greyhound who’s racing name was Hot Stuff Amanda. She retired a couple of months ago and has been in 4 foster homes. She is going to be 3 years old on January 1, 2011. She is a red fawn, but I do believe there is a bit of blue fawn going on, compared to my other red fawn greyhounds.

She kind of got set up improperly in some foster homes and was making quite the name for herself, having a little trouble here and there, being kind of scared and shy.

So…

she has moved in with us!  We like trouble here!Winking smile It always brings us the sweetest hounds ever.  We are hoping that Mandy will follow in her predecessors paw prints, as we think she is a pretty good girl already. She’s a little nervous, but is doing very well.

Renner: I wagged and wagged when she came, so happy to have another greyhound friend. After Scooter passed away it was 6 months of having to take care of my humans all by myself. I’m keeping an eye on her and teaching her the ropes!
