Two For One

SONY DSC Ruby, Renner and Keegan Wading In The Lake.

Upon my awakening the thermometer said –21 Fahrenheit. There was also a windchill advisory issued warning me about the 35 degree below zero windchill. On a day when it is minus 21 degrees F outside it does a body good to reflect back to being able to stand ‘in’ the water rather than ‘on top’ of the water.

So this week it’s a ‘two fer’, yep, not only are we looking at retired racing Greyhound Ruby’s reflection in the lake at Lac Qui Parle State Park in Minnesota, but we are reflecting back to the days of summer to help keep us warm on such a cold winter’s day.

Here are a few more from Lac Qui Parle State Park.

Ahhh…. I don’t know about you, but after the craziness of the holidays and the winter cold, I feel like I’m being tucked in with a blanket of warmth and serenity. It was even better than a cup of hot chocolate with mini-marshmallows on top and that’s pretty hard to beat. ;)

  1. Love these slices of summer! It's cold here, but not that cold. The greyhounds are so beautiful, I bet you can't get them outside in this weather! Kathy

  9. Your pictures are so nice. I love the rich color. The coldest that i've ever been in was 11 and that's not minus. I just checked and my hometown was 72today and 73 tomorrow. So even the windy low 20's in Newtown feels really cold.
    Warm thoughts!

I did work in a walk-in freezer for a while but that doesn't count. :)
