The Dome Is Down

We got about a foot and a half of snow yesterday and this was enough, along with the windy conditions and cold to collapse the Metrodome.

Below is a link to the story.

Snow falling through the damaged roof of the Minneapolis Metrodome (12 December 2010)

You can go to the site and click on the photos there to see the damage. You can check out the link below to learn a little more about the storm.

Getting ready to go out again and do some snow removal work here now that it has warmed up a bit to 2 degrees Fahrenheit.

This photo is out the front window and you can see our mailbox peeking out of the snow at the end of our driveway. It is early Sunday morning and you can see the snow has stopped and the sun is shinning. There is a string of red Christmas ornaments that hang down the side with a bow at the top. The red balls are pretty much buried.

It is a bit on the windy side as the flag blowing out to the right indicates.

Backyard

Coming up the stairs to the deck door.

No sitting on *this* deck for a while.

All in all this Minnesota winter will be a memorable one.

  1. I saw that on NBC at the start of the Sunday Night Game. Amazing. What beautiful photos my friend. :) It looks so clean and refreshing. It amazes me how much havoc it can create :)

  2. You've made me feel better! We have had a nasty blizzard today, but I don't think we got close to as much snow as you did! Stay warm and safe!

  3. Brrr! but life goes on. Everything grinds to a halt in UK with far less snow than you get.

  4. Wow. We're promised bad weather again by Thursday but I doubt it'll be anything like this! Poor old Metrodome... I hear they cancelled the game. Gotta stay safe, I know.

Glad to hear Renner loves his sheepskin! Sid says 'I knew he would!!' ;)

  5. That is terrible!! Glad you guys are alright! That is a lot of snow!! I was used to it all the years I lived in Montana, not sure I could deal with it any more! Take care, stay warm. Glad Renner's got the sheepskin!!

  6. Oh, we saw this on the news...pretty impressive, and scary! We're supposed to have snow again by tomorrow, but we never have that amount.

  7. A winter wonderland. I love snow for Christmas, but then it can melt! We got almost 3 feet in 2 days here. There was no damage in the city, but 3 snow days were declared!
