Fall Weekend

Not a lot was going on this weekend but that did not stop the family from getting together and coming up with something to do. The idea that won out was going to a small local pumpkin patch to let the little guy pick out a pumpkin and just taking in a most beautiful Fall day. The air was crisp but not cold, there was a wind though, so a jacket was a must. The sky was as blue as ever, just a perfect day for doing nothing more important than hanging out with people you love and enjoy being with.

We went to a patch that was run by the Anoka Farmer’s Association (I believe it was, but not totally sure). And to be honest it didn’t really have that many pumpkins to offer. We usually go to larger farms further out where there are fields and fields of pumpkin patches to wander through.

However, this little patch had a lot of other things in it that were not organic to the area, but the little guy loved to do. This ‘bouncer’ was certainly an enticement for him.

And of course he did pick out a pumpkin too. I believe that this one was Mom approved.

There were other things out there to do as well.

This would be ‘pumpkin bowling’. No automatic pin setters here, all kid powered!

Okay…yes, and Daddy powered as well.

I do believe this little guy staring in at me through our deck doors was all about thinking it would have been ‘nuts’ to stay inside during such a beautiful weekend.

It looks like you had a beautiful weekend! Ours was pretty darned brisk and damp here, so I envy you!

  9. Looks like you had a fun day. We don't have pumpkin patches here at least not that I've ever heard of. Might be fun to see one though and choose your own pumpkin.

  12. Aren't pumpkin patches fun! It's great to pick one from the actual place they are grown. We grew pumpkins one year ourselves, but they were ripe in about July, so we had to pick them right when they started turning and hide them in all the closets until October!
