This True Colors Thursday is all about Emerald.
The Deception of the Emerald Ring
by Lauren Willig
The above is a Nicobar Pigeon that I snapped a photo of while visiting an aviary. Portions of his wings were Emerald.
This Luna Moth is a little lighter shade of Emerald.
Trixi and her Emerald collar riding in the van. She had a lot of floor room with a bed to lay on, but chose the seats.
A true Emerald, photographed at the Museum of Natural History.
For someone who told Checkers, you struggled with Emerald, you did wonderfully well!
ReplyDeleteThe Nicobar Pigeon could even make me a pigeon fancer.
And, I love the way you always include a pup - Trixi looks fine in her colour.
Best wishes
Blue
Can I have the last one, please...
ReplyDeleteIt is so beautiful.....
Lovely selection.
Well as my family hail from the 'Emerald Isle' I love that colour!
ReplyDeleteThat book looks a little serious... :-)
Very nice selection of emeralds. I always think of pigeons as a nuisance, but this one sure is pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog - that pigeon is gorgeous
ReplyDeleteI've never been a huge fan of green, (they were one of my high school colors, the ugliest shade of green you can imagine) but I have to admit that emerald green is a far nicer shade.
ReplyDeleteHi Blue,
ReplyDeleteOne of those colors that just seemed daunting in the beginning. Hard to get started on but then you get going and things start to just unveil themselves.
Thanks so much glad you found things you liked!
Hi Dina,
Oh yes....it is beautiful isn't it!
Thank you so much for stopping by, hope you will come again!
Hi Kate,
There you go, the perfect color! :)
Actually I haven't read the book. I have bookshelves of books I haven't read (yet). All in my future plans though.
Thank you Kate!
Hi BJ,
Oooo love your 'Emerald' Eye! Yes I agree I thought this particular pigeon deserve some photographic attention! True to form he was not shy and gathering materials for the nest in a way that suggested he would appreciate my help.
Thank you BJ, hope you will stop by again.
Hi Checkers,
Nice to see you here! Your blog is wonderful, I enjoyed it. Thank you for stopping by here as well. Please don't be a stranger!
Hi Mr. Nighttime,
ReplyDeleteGreen and gold were my school colors so I understand where you are coming from. Emerald is much nicer than that...nondescript shade of green used for the school colors. Good to see you again, thank you for spending some time with me.
Trixi!! She looks adorable in her green collar, doesn't she?
ReplyDeleteThe moth isn't bad, either! ;)
