Cool shot! I love snapping the farms around here, too.
ReplyDeleteSo much texture and geometry in this photo. Great shot. However, I'm in love with the photos you took at the fort recently. The range from white to black is just perfect!
ReplyDeletea classic
ReplyDeleteyou have three week's entry in one post... all equally impressive shots in b/w
ReplyDeleteHay there ! Stop by for a beer?
ReplyDeleteStory telling time.
A&W, I remember those drive ins. Are there many left in Minnesota?
ReplyDeleteIt's funny your blog.
ReplyDeleteGreat monochrome picture!
Hi Dusty L and Kazu,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by!
There are actually quite a few A&Ws left in Minnesota. We seem to find the drive-ins with curb service when we go out of the Twin Cities area to camp at the State Parks. Not so much in the *really* small towns, but in the mid-size ones. Nothing is like a frosty mug of A&W Root Beer on a hot summer day.
Hi Bettyl,
ReplyDeleteThank you! Glad you came by for a visit.
GreenboroDailyPhoto,
Hello! Thank you, I am glad you liked those photos. They are some of my favorites as well.
magiceye,
Thanks so much.
Bengbeng,
Thank you! I know, I just have a tough time putting up one photo and walking away. I enjoy photography so much and keep trying to improve. I then have so many photos, I can't decide what to put up....that plus I seem to always want a 'story' that comes full circle...that tells something. Then again, there are people who can take a photo that tells the whole story in just one snap. I envy those who can make a point with few words...or one photo. Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Aileni,
ReplyDeleteYes...but in this case it is Root Beer. A sweet treat. I do have a problem with always wanting to tell a story don't I. I was going to stop with the first one, but then just couldn't resist the next two as well.
Thank you for stopping by Aileni!
Great photos! We have the hay-things here too! =) Greetings from Sweden!
ReplyDeleteI grew up with A & W drive in's - great memories!
ReplyDeleteI love the A & W glasses in b/w. Very cool looking. Nice blog!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by my playground. Much appreciated. I love this monochrome photos. They are just awesome. :) Aloha
ReplyDeleteHi Niina,
ReplyDeleteThank you. No doubt this sort of thing is just a general farming practice done in a lot of areas. I don't know why they facinate me enough to always be trying to photography them in different lights. I just like the way they look I guess. Thank you for chatting!
Hi Daryl,
Thank you! Glad you came for a peek.
Oh I almost forgot. Usually when someone gets an award that they're supposed to pass on to x amount of people, they copy the award from the givers blog then post it with the names of the people they want to give it to. Then they let each one know that an award is waiting for them. Then the recievers do the same.
ReplyDeleteI hope that makes sense. :-)
Hi James,
ReplyDeleteThank you! I want to make one with a Greyhound...(big surprise!). Learning! Thank you again. (now if I could just learn to type...) :)
I made a comment about your nice pictures, but it looks like it didn't go through. Oh Well I do like them very much. I have fond A&W memories.
ReplyDeleteYou're right about the awards.
If you had one to give, which I guess would have to be made using a picasa or photoshop type of software. You would post it here and name the chosen ones, then tell those whom you are giving it to to come and get it(copy it from here then paste it as a picture on their blog)
Feel free to ask if you have any specific questions about how to do any of this.
I'm far from an expert but I am very thankful to those who have helped me.
I hunt and peck and half the time when I read it later it doesn't make sense. :-)
Thank you, James. Glad you liked the photos, I also have fond childhood memories of A & W drive-ins. It was fun to go to one again.
ReplyDeleteThank you again for all the help, I will give it a shot. Well first I have to make one...I just made my Blogblast for Peace using Photoshop, so that is probably what I will do for whatever it is I end up with. :)
Thanks again.
Love the hay rolls. I've had my eye on those as a photo op myself. The rootbeer glasses are great in black and white!
ReplyDeleteThe hay could be right here in Ontario. Mmmm. A&W!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, great story. I like that last photo. I'm a sucker for contrast and texture.
ReplyDeleteMyMaracas,
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked both the hay rolls and the rootbeer mugs. Thank you. Hope you drop by again soon!
Your EG Tour Guide
Yes, I guess hay rolls are a fairly common practic all over. Never the less, I am always facinated by their form and texture...the way the light changes them. I agree with you, A & W yum! Thank you! Glad you stopped by.
Dragonstar,
Thank you. I agree with you regarding contrast and texture. I love the light working its magic as well. Thanks for visiting!
Nice set of b&w pictures!
