What I am trying to show you here is the tiny little weather application I have on the sidebar of my computer.
The good news is that it is sunny – thus the full sun burst in the upper left hand corner. The red ALERT across the middle means ‘something is up’! And by that I don’t mean the temperature. As you can see (though very pixilated) in the upper right hand corner it is –21 degrees (yes *minus* 21) Fahrenheit at 8 am in the morning here.
The Alert is actually for the –35 degree windchill (good thing it is not all that windy!).
The above is what I saw out my kitchen window first thing in this morning. Regardless of the cold the sunrise was as beautiful as ever.
Renner: This is how I feel about that!
Mandy: You don’t see me! I’m invisible….so quit asking me if I have to go out! I can hold it, my bathroom is too cold right now!
All that said:
Today is perfect for reflecting back on warmth!
Of course little guy with Scooter. Our sweet Scooter, gone but never forgotten.
Apparently everyone is tired out. So we will end today’s reflective journey and hopefully leave everyone feeling a little bit warmer!

Thank you!! I do feel so much warmer thanks to those very special photos.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for warmer weather and nice days out.
I love the legs in the air approach to the view from the window. I'm with you on that.
Love and licks, Winnie
Happy life, happy family... Nice sharing on those slice of life... I'm in love with the very first one : I just love the effect of the steam on the view from the window...
ReplyDeleteOoh, so chilly! It was really lovely to see some 'warm' pictures and to know that summer will come again (though not necessarily in UK;-))
ReplyDeleteIt takes a long time to adjust to the departure of a loved pet. We keep thinking back to 'this time last year' when we still had our young Monty and our old boy Buddy. Lovely memories, though, before the final sadness.
Wow! That is really cold! 11F above is the coldest that I've expirenced. Tonight Newtown is supposed to drop to 9F and Sunday 1F I just hope the wind stops.
ReplyDeleteI love these shots! The colors in the top one are beautiful and the splash and reflection = Wow what a shot!
Stay warm!
You definitely need to reflect on warmer times but that scene through your kitchen window is brilliant! Simply awesome colors of a chilly world out there!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous reflections and what terrific captures! Always enjoy seeing the summery ones -- particularly at this time of year! Hope you have a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
Thanks for reflecting on warmth. Here in Maine it is snowing and we are expecting very cold temps over the weekend. I LOVE that first shot and of course the two dogs reactions. Lots of sleeping here today too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots!!
ReplyDeleteYes the pictures makes it feel a bit warmer out. Thanks for the heat surge..
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, it's cold there! You have a lot of lovely warm picture memories though. I love that first picture of your kitchen window. It's so pretty and unique looking. Nice to see Mandy and Renner looks as cute as always. By the way, Mandy, I would hold it too!
ReplyDeleteHey, I hear ya! Here in Wisconsin, the weather guy said we had a -20 windchill over night. It felt AWFUL outside when I let Bernie out in the backyard last night!
ReplyDeleteToday is a great day to reflect on warmer days!...as I sit by my space heater :-P
J'aime beaucoup le "splashhhh" !
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous sunrise shot through your window! Very artistic looking. Love all the family photos. And the splash shot is cool!
ReplyDeleteRenner and Mandy, I'm with you on those sentiments! Thanks for making our eleven below windchill this morning feel a lot better!
ReplyDeleteI love all those warm pictures! They really take you away, especially that one with the blue sky! Wow!
I just have to ask one question, though. In that first sunrise picture, is that a stained glass Greyhound in the window? If it is, I have total envy!
houndstooth,
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a stained glass Greyhound you see there. I love it! Thanks!
Thanks to everyone for stopping by so many wonderful comments! I enjoy them so much! BTW that is condensation on frozen windows in the photo of the windows. I hadn't even had the hot water on yet, so no steam had hit the windows - that is how it looked when I first walked into the kitchen without doing anything prior to seeing it and taking a photo.
Thank you again everyone, and if you aren't in a warm environment....bundle up!
Holy smokes that is cold. I think I would be able to cross my legs indefinitely too.
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks for sending us all that warmth. I am toasty warm now! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh my, that's cold! At least we are in the positive numbers here! Love the photo out your window, those colors are beautiful!
ReplyDeletethere are some cute, cute pictures in there! The first two of Mandy and Renner- awww! -35!! Yikes!! That's just awful, but the sunrise is beautiful you're right! I like that shot out the window!
ReplyDeleteWow... such a lot to comment on!
ReplyDeleteMy first thought is that it's so bittersweet to look back on photos of dearly beloved dogs, now departed, isn't it? A photo can bring me to tears some days. But the true gift is that we loved them so much while they were with us, and they loved us back. Scooter with the little guy ... so sweet!
Love the view from your window! Especially from the INSIDE looking out... and that blue sky/hayfield shot is a true classic! As is the water splash.
Hi Y'all,
ReplyDeleteYou've convinced me that my Humans had the right idea staying at the shore for the winter. I hate suffering from "houseitis".
Stay warm y'all,
Hawk aka BrownDog
